Samantha Strom
Clinical Graduate Student Intern

Samantha worked as a coach for ten years in higher education, coding bootcamps, and through her own business, Quarterlife Crisis, helping clients navigate career changes, find work/life balance, and manage people and conflict. These sessions often involved deep emotional work, and Samantha decided to formalize her skillset and gain her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through William & Mary.
She became increasingly passionate about working with parents after her own journey to motherhood. She deeply understands the intense highs and lows that can come from every stage of trying, loss, pregnancy, childbirth, newborn life, and ongoing parenting. Samantha uses Feminist therapy and a social justice lens to help clients analyze and externalize many of societal pressures and unfair expectations placed on moms. Her overall approach is eclectic and tailored to match client needs, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts” work, attachment theory, and neuroscience. Ultimately, she is honored to partner with clients to build joyful lives with themselves and their families.
Samantha completed training on perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. She also holds a masters in Organization Development from American University and a Bachelors in Environmental Policy from Middlebury College. In her free time, she chases her toddler, plays ultimate frisbee, wrestles her rambunctious dog, and attempts to maintain her team’s title of bocce league champion.
