Clinical Supervision
Waypoint is passionate about training the next generation of mental health professionals in providing high-quality perinatal and maternal mental health care. Through our clinical supervision program, associate licensed LCMHCs and LCSWs have the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians who specialize in supporting women, parents, and families during the perinatal and postpartum period.

Supervisees receive mentorship in evidence-based approaches to perinatal mental health, including the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth and reproductive trauma, pregnancy and infant loss, identity shifts in parenthood, and the complex emotional transitions of early parenting. Our supervision program emphasizes thoughtful clinical development, ethical practice, and compassionate, family-centered care.

At Waypoint, we are committed to helping clinicians build both confidence and competence in this highly specialized area of mental health care while developing a sustainable and meaningful clinical career.
What Supervisees Can Expect
Supervisees at Waypoint receive supportive, collaborative clinical supervision designed to foster both professional growth and clinical confidence. Supervision includes a combination of case consultation, skill development, ethical decision-making, and guidance in building a sustainable clinical practice.

Within supervision, clinicians can expect:
-
Individual and/or group supervision with experienced licensed clinicians
-
Case consultation focused on complex perinatal and family systems dynamics
-
Support in developing clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
-
Guidance around ethical considerations and scope of practice in perinatal mental health
-
Opportunities to build confidence in working with high-risk or emotionally complex cases
-
Mentorship that supports both professional development and clinician well-being

Our goal is to create a supervision environment that is thoughtful, supportive, and grounded in both clinical excellence and compassion.

Supervisees do not have to be employed by Waypoint to receive supervision. Associate licensed clinicians from other practice settings are welcome to participate in our supervision program while developing their specialization in perinatal and maternal mental health.
