Tassy Henderson

Tassy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and National Certified Counselor with experience providing support to clients from various socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds as well as underserved communities. She has worked with adolescents and adults dealing with a wide range of mental health issues such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress-related disorders, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem and identity concerns,  and grief.


Due to her personal experience and recognizing the disparities and needs in maternal mental health, Tassy is particularly passionate about helping mothers and aims to assist clients facing challenges during pregnancy and motherhood, including birthing issues, postpartum difficulties, grief, loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Tassy was awarded a PSI Perinatal Action Fund scholarship and is pursuing her PMH-C certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Additionally, she is training to become a certified bereavement and miscarriage doula in North Carolina furthering her mission to empower women during their motherhood experiences.  

Tassy utilizes an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Experiential Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and creative arts, to holistically support her clients and meet their individual needs. Furthermore, her art background has become a valuable asset in helping clients engage in self-expression. 


Her ultimate goal is to create a safe, nurturing space for clients to gain insight, rebuild their strength, and find inner peace. Tassy believes it is important to meet clients where they are and strives to ensure each client feels heard throughout the development of the therapeutic relationship. Working hand-in-hand with her clients, Tassy finds joy in helping them uncover the best solutions and empowering them to lead purposeful and fulfilling lives.
