Shamira Smith
MS, LMFT

Shamira is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
Shamira is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. She believes that each person has strengths that can help guide them through difficult seasons and enjoys helping clients develop new ways of understanding themselves, their experiences, and their relationships.
She has a special passion for working with couples and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and other life stressors. Shamira views therapy as a collaborative process, working alongside each client to identify their goals, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools for creating meaningful change.
Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy to create a treatment experience that is both compassionate and goal-oriented.
Shamira considers it a privilege to witness clients recognize their own resilience, gain greater self-awareness, and begin to view their challenges from a new perspective. Her hope is that each person she works with leaves therapy feeling more confident, connected, and equipped to navigate their journey with greater clarity and purpose.
