Josephine is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over thirty years of experience providing health care to individuals and their families across the lifespan. She has worked in various acute medical and mental health settings, including UNC Psychiatric Mental Health. In the past twelve years she's primarily focused on providing perinatal and postnatal care, which includes anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.

Josephine was a team member of the country's first inpatient Perinatal Mental Health unit at UNC Health Care. She also participated in the inpatient clinical research development of the only infusion drug to treat postpartum depression.  


Josephine is a big advocate of therapy and medication management and provides a holistic, safe, and supportive environment for her clients.  As a mother herself, she views her role as giving individualized care by offering guidance and support for each client's unique needs. She empowers her clients to help them make the best decisions for themselves as individuals as well as their families so her clients can lead fulfilling and productive lives.
