Jeanie Byrne

500 E-RYT, Clinical Graduate Student Intern

ADHD

Jeanie is a graduate student intern pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Somatic Counseling at Prescott College. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011, and in 2020, after a decade in international business consulting, felt called to return to her passion of supporting mental health and well-being in her community. Jeanie was awarded the PSI Perinatal Action Fund scholarship and is pursuing her PMH-C certification in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. As a parent, she understands the challenges of finding balance in daily life, which deepens her ability to connect with clients navigating similar pressures.

Jeanie creates a therapeutic space where clients feel seen and understood. She views counseling as a collaboration and tailors her approach by integrating components from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Counseling, as well as other modalities, to meet the unique needs of each client.

Using neuroscience-informed interventions, she helps clients understand how the brain and body respond to stress and trauma. By supporting emotional regulation, she works with clients to gain clarity and build greater resilience to navigate their individual challenges. A certified yoga instructor since 2013, Jeanie also incorporates effective and accessible breathing and mindfulness practices. She has supported a wide range of clients, including perinatal and postpartum, athletes, cancer patients, children, and seniors, honoring the cultural and personal factors shaping each person’s journey. She brings warmth, curiosity, and humor to her work to help clients feel empowered to grow, heal, and show up as their authentic selves.
