April (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. Her background includes serving as a group therapist in a Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program at Anchor Perinatal Wellness, supporting college students with basic needs insecurity at NC State, and attempting to keep up with her 3 sons as a stay at home mom before returning to work. April holds specialized training in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and is actively working toward her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).
April specializes in supporting individuals through life transitions, including changes in relationships, academic stress, identity development, career shifts, family dynamics, grief and loss, and parenthood.
April believes welcoming a baby is a profound transformation that reshapes your physical, emotional, and mental world. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the intense seasons of pregnancy, postpartum, or early parenthood, you do not have to walk this path alone.
April will support you to reconnect with who you are, nurture your needs, and practice genuine self-compassion. In sessions, April focuses on helping you build self-attunement and align your daily life with your core values.
Because everyone's journey is different, April draws from a variety of practical coping skills and evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatics. April utilizes a variety of tangible skills in combination with inner attunement to help clients nurture self compassion and build trusting and fulfilling relationships with themselves and others. As a mother herself, April understands the joy, isolation, and exhaustion of motherhood and commits to walking alongside people during this and other seasons of transition.
