Anna Quarles

MSW, LCSW

Anna-Quarles-LCSW

Anna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years experience working with adults and children. Anna believes that our life encounters paired with our beliefs shape how we show-up in the world, and that there are moments when we need help to get through a conflict or when we realize perhaps things have become too hard. Her approach as a therapist is to listen and learn with you so together we can identify ways to make changes so you can find comfort and balance in your life. Anna has worked in medical and psychiatric hospitals as well as out-patient clinics providing therapy.  Her work across these settings has included leading therapeutic groups with adults, parent guidance, individual and couples therapy sessions, and play therapy.

The last five years Anna worked in a large level IV NICU as well as providing support to the high-risk prenatal clinic and birthing center. It was in this setting that Anna found her passion for supporting women and their families with fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, child development, infant death, and grief.

Anna has extensive experience working with individuals or couples who have recently received a significant fetal diagnosis, grieving the loss of pregnancy or coping with the death of an infant. Anna is also able to support individuals who have endured medical trauma themselves, as a parent to a pediatric patient or secondarily as a healthcare professional.

Anna’s entrance to motherhood was defined by preterm childbirth followed by lengthy hospital stays and months of medical follow-up once home.  She understands first hand the overwhelming feelings of guilt, fear and lack of control, but also the ability to find joy in unexpected moments. Anna looks forward to the privilege to sit and be present with you to help you towards your goals.
