Desiree is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. Desiree has worked as a mental health therapist and behavioral coach. She has provided services to individuals and couples making lifestyle change and managing mental health challenges. Desiree has experience working with perinatal mood and anxiety issues, trauma survivors, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, substance abuse and other mental health disorders. Desiree helps her clients change their lives by using a range of techniques and strategies, including mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques, change systems and self-monitoring to make necessary life changes.
As a maternal mental health therapist, Desiree uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help her clients achieve their goals. She has completed advanced perinatal mental health training through Postpartum Support International and is a trauma informed therapist having received training at the DC Rape Crisis Center. She has led groups and provides individual and couples counseling for people experiencing life transitions including the transition to parenthood.
